CHUNAR ; A ANCIANT TOURIST PLACE NEAR VARANASi





Chunar, located in Mirzapur District of Uttar Pradesh state, India, is an ancient borough. The railway tracks passing through Chunar railroad track station leads to adult destinations of India, including Howrah, Delhi, Tatanagar and Varanasi. National Highway count 7 also happen through Chunar. It is connected to Varanasi, the pristine and pilgrimage metropolis also well known as Kashi or Benaras, by roads and rails. Chunar is well known for its pottery employment, chiefly clay toy.


The Chunar Fort was established by Maharaja Vikramaditya, the King of Ujjain, in honour of the stop of his brother Raja Bharthari. Later it was taken by Maharaja Chet Singh of Benaras temporarily and after Chet Singh burst in 1781 AD. Warren Hestings retired for safety to Chunar where a force was collected by Major Phophan, which expelled Chet Singh from his stronghold in his vicinity. Hastings liked the situation and climate, his domiciliation is still standing. Near it, there is a sundial bearing the inscription.



Chunargarh of 'Chandrakanta', the famous classic novel by Babu Devakinandan Khatri, is only 40 km from the holy town of Varanasi. The Chunar Fort is situated on an extension of the Vindhyan rank of mountains, with the river Ganges copious proximate its base. Various exotic waterfalls and exact worship places attraction thousands of tourists and locals.

The oldest name of Chunar was Charanadri, as accordingly to Hindu the word, Lord Vishnu had taken his first gait in his Vaman incarnation in the dynasty of Great King Bali in the age of Satyug. Here is one of the most visited places of tourist attraction around Chunar, here is the famous Durga Khoja temple, which is situated between Shaktesh Gar road, only two kilometers from the Chunar Bus Stand, between the Vinhya mountain ranges.  Apart from this, the surprise coupe, Harjat The famous dargah of Sulaimani Saheb, the valley of Siddhant, which falls a very beautiful waterfall.

There is a tehsil chunar of Mirzapur district. Being located between Kashi (Varanasi) and the Vindhya region, Chunar region has been an area of attraction for sages, monks, princes, monks, sages, yogis-sanyasis, writers etc. Mirzapur and Chunar regions including the Sonbhadra were all integral parts of Kashi. Chunar is established in ancient times as a spiritual, tourism and business center. Being situated on the banks of the Ganges, it had direct business relation with Kolkata and the trade of goods produced from forests was traded.
