MUSICIAN AND CLASSICAL DANCE ARTIST FROM VARANASI






Music in Varanasi is a folklore associated to the ancient set of the Pauranic legends. Lord Shiva, who is reported to have established this town, was credited with developing melody and frisk forms. Puran Maharaj, Rajan Sajan Mishra, Madhu Mishra, Shyam

Krishna, also  from Kabir Chora Mohalla of Varanasi.

   Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan'    was a resident of Dumrao of Bihar state. 

    He  was settled in Vranasi.

    The ladies  singers have also had a  tradition in Banaras. They used to sing in the rich,and 

 the kings,  in

 temples.they was special in the formation of Thumari, Tappa, Dhhamal, Dhrupad, Khayal, 

etc. In ancient

times Vidya Dhari, Saraswati, Bari Maana, Moti Kesher, Rajveeri, Gohar Jan, Rasulan Bai, 


Siddhvari,

Bageshwari Devi, etc. are named after the great honor.
