LAL KHAN TOMB ; Sample of Central Asia Architectural Style

In the area of the old Rajghat Fort, there is one of the few original Muhammad buildings in Banaras, which is particularly notable for the beauty of architecture. This is the tomb of Lal Khan, former minister of the King of Banaras.

This is a fine monument, very rich in color as cloisonne enamel. The exterior and inner walls of the entire building of the tomb are decorated with tiles. This technique was brought here by the Muslim rabbis from Parsia of Central Asia.

From decorations with colored tiels and tiles Mosaic, it is closely related to stone and marble mosaic and roots, which employed the Socratic architect when they established themselves in countries where the latter material was abundant.

Presently the Tomb is in the supervision of the Indian Government  Department of Archaeological survey , which he is maintaining. A beautiful park has been developed around this beautiful building. From here, the beautiful view of the Ganga can be seen. Then there is a crowd of strollers here.

In the picture below, the remains of King Banner's fort in the excavation of Rajghat.
